More Advanced Layout Strategy
See layouts here for examples.
Pay attention to the range of your defensive weapons (when you tap on them, you can see the range as a white circle), especially mortar and air defense. You want to squeeze as much stuff inside their range as possible.
Buildings with more hit points will take longer to destroy. So, enemy troops will spend more time hacking at them while getting shot. You want to shoot them hard while they attack high hp buildings like storages. Once you get a wizard tower, it can be a good strategy to use storages as buffer buildings in range of wizard tower on your war base. See my th5 and th6 layouts above for examples.

- On th 4 through th 6, it is possible have your outer walls completely inside the range of mortars. (If you can do it on th5, I want to see. If you want to know about higher levels, ask a higher level player than me.)
- Make sure the important stuff is covered by air defenses.
- Pay attention to buffer building placement. See how many weapons can cover each buffer building.
